Dr Goh is an Adjunct Associate Professor of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, NTU. He teaches Government & Politics of Singapore at the MPA group, Singapore Public Administration and Public Administration and Politics at the Master of Public Administration Programme and Master of Science (Managerial Economics) Programme respectively. He was formerly a Senior Vice-President of the Singapore Press Holdings and Associate Editor of The Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao; a member of Advisory Council for Communications & New Media Program at National University of Singapore and External Examiner and Course Chair for Chinese and Translation Programmes respectively offered by SIM University. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Xiamen University, China. He was awarded a “Service To Education Award” by the Ministry of Education in 2003 in appreciation for his “dedicated service to education”.
Research Interests
Dr. Goh's areas of interests include: government and politics of Singapore, government's media, education and language policies, language planning; the rise of China and the global Chinese language fever, the prospects of Chinese language in a globalized world, cross-cultural studies, journalism of the West and the East.
