What are considered tissue banking activities?

Tissue banking activities refer to a structured and organised activity involving human tissues for the purposes of facilitating current or future research, or for public health or epidemiological purposes. It may include any of the following:

(a) the collection, storage, procurement or importation of human tissues; 
(b) the supply, provision, or export of human tissue.

Note: The Human Tissue Framework under HBRA excludes anyone if the tissue banking actitivty is solely for the purposes of your own human biomedical research approved by an IRB.
