​​Details​EMA’s Grant Call on Solar Forecasting
​Scope and objective ​•Objective of grant call: The grant call seeks to catalyse applied research and development (R&D) in solar forecasting so that solar power output can be accurately forecasted to enable the Power System Operator (PSO) to manage solar intermittency. The Energy Programme Office/EMA invites submission of detailed Full Proposals for research and development (R&D) projects that will strengthen our power system through innovative solar forecasting solutions that can be deployed for the PSO.  • More details are available here: 
​Desired deliverables​The Research and Development activities for this project shall include the following two work packages: 1) Work Package 1: Solar Irradiance Forecasting Model Customised to Singapore’s Weather Conditions;2) Work Package 2: Integration of Solar Irradiance Forecasts with Power System Operation and3) Use of Solar Forecasting for Demand/Load Applications (Optional)
​Mandatory criteria​EMA advised that it is mandatory to include the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) as a member of the research consortia
​Project duration​• Research and development phase: shall not exceed 3 years • Subsequent maintenance phase: shall be at least 1 year, starting after the handover of the solar forecasting system
​Key deadlines​• Indications of interest: 31 Mar 2017, noon• Original signed hardcopies (2 copies) for institution endorsement: 12 Apr 2017, noon• Recommended internal deadline for early RITA submission: 17 Apr 2017, noon• NRF’s RITA submission deadline: 18 Apr 2017, noon All submission are made to RSO through School/Institute Administrators 
​​Information session​• EMA invites Interested applicants to attend an information session on 15 Mar 2017.  Please register directly with EMA_EnergyR& no later than 13 Mar 2017 noon​

2. Interested applicants are requested to prepare their proposals in accordance to EMA's guidelines.   For submission of research proposals, PIs are requested to take note of that administrative checking is done by applicants and respective School/Institute Administrators.  Interested applicants are requested to check with their School Administrators regarding their Schools' internal requirements and deadlines for administrative checks.
