NOL Fellowship Programme: 2014 Call for Application now open

The 2014 NOL Fellowship Programme Call for Applications is now open.  The NOL Fellowship is an initiative by the Neptune Orient Lines (NOL) Ltd and NUS.  The aim is to develop a first-rate research programme on transportation and logistics issues. The Fellowship supports research initiatives from NUS, NTU and SMU, collaborative efforts between them, and with leading universities abroad.  The Programme is administered at NUS.

Proposals are invited for, but not limited to the following research themes:

·          Logistics Information Technology

·          Logistics Infrastructure and Systems

·          Supply Chain Management

·          Air Pollution, Water Pollution and Energy Efficiency Management

Please refer to the attached document for an outline of these areas and click here for the list of past awarded projects.

Interested applicants are requested to familiarise themselves with the guidelines of the NOL fellowship Programme and the following terms:

a.     As a guide, funding support for research projects may be up to S$400,000, but excellent projects which require more funding may be considered

b.     Duration of projects should not exceed 2 years

c.     Annex A for write up on Important Notes for Drafting Proposals.

d.     NOL’s special requirements for major equipment that constitutes > 50% of the total value requested and/or a single piece of equipment that costs > $100,000

e.     A complete application package must include:

                          i.    NOLF Programme Grant Application and Appendix I-Budget Request forms (as attached)

                         ii.    CVs of the PI and all researchers/collaborators

f.      EOM guidelines

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to present their proposal to the NOLF Governing Board sometime in Sep 2014.  Successful applicants will be notified by Nov/Dec 2014.

To facilitate the internal process, all interested applicants are invited to indicate their interest to RSO by 30 April 2014 through their respective School Administrators.

Submission

Administrative checking is done at the Schools by applicants and School Administrators.  Please contact your respective School Administrators for a copy of the checklist and information regarding the School’s submission timeline; Softcopy and hardcopy proposals with signatures are to be sent to RSO by 3 Jun 2014 noon.
