  • Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI)
    Nanyang Technological University (NTU) reinforced its leadership position in environment and water technologies (EWT) when it officially launched the Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI). NEWRI is an ‘eco-system’ of research groups, centres and institutes which provides a contiguous value chain from education and research through translation, development and application. It unifies NTU’s EWT efforts and serves as a one-stop centre for industry and research partners to access NTU’s EWT capabilities.
  • Institute for Media Innovation (IMI)
    The Institute for Media Innovation is formed within the symbiosis of Media Systems Research and Media Content Research to create Intelligent Media. The research in the Institute will focus on the mega-trends in interactive and digital media research today - 'next generation multimedia search', advanced 'intelligence' in media, autonomous virtual actors, innovative digital cinema and television, enhanced media technology and novel media formats.

  • Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERIAN)
    The Energy Research Institute at NTU (ERIAN) will focus on the areas of sustainable energy, energy efficiency and infrastructure, and socio-economic aspects of energy research. Research activities and considerable expertise in these areas exists within NTU’s research centres and schools. ERIAN will provide a unique platform, where the various disciplines such as materials, power electronics and systems, biological, physical, social sciences, as well as humanities and business communities can interact to explore new solutions to a host of issues including energy generation, harnessing, storage, distribution, efficiency, as well as impact on climate change and global warming.
  • Insitute on Asian Consumer Insight (ACI)
    The Institute on Asian Consumer Insight (ACI) aims to be the thought leader in understanding pan-Asian consumer needs and preferences. It also aims to conduct research and education programmes which help firms innovate products and services that meet the needs of consumers across the region. As a national institute, ACI will work with other local universities and NTU's academic partners in the region. It will also engage business-to-consumer (B2C) companies to develop capability for 'future-casting' pan-Asian consumer behaviour and research methodology.

  • Institute of Catastrophe Risk Management (ICRM)
    The ICRM is an amalgamation of research expertise in engineering, earth sciences, business and risk assessment contributing towards an open worldwide standard for calculating and communicating risks associated with earthquakes, typhoons, and floods as well as possible amplification of such risks through climate change.

    ISR aims to be a world class sports R&D institute for sports research and innovation and the leading research institution in the Asia-Pacific region.   • Maritime Institute @ NTU (MI@NTU)
    The institute aims to establish a broad-based maritime education and research platform at NTU by leveraging on NTU’s core competencies and partnering the industry; thereby supporting Singapore’s aspiration to be a global maritime knowledge hub.
