Professor Kang Jun-Koo’s research interests include corporate finance and international finance, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, capital raising, international portfolio allocation, and banking. He is well known for his expertise on the issues of home bias - the tendency for locals to hold equity in the domestic market and not sufficiently diversify globally. Prof Kang is one of the most prolific finance professors globally, where he has published more than 30 journal papers in top journals in Finance and Economics, including 28 A+ papers in Financial Times ranked and Business Week ranked journals, with a total of more than 5800 Google Scholar citations. Prof Kang is ranked No.1 in Asia-Pacific region for his research productivity, and his publications are instrumental in helping NTU to achieve its high ranking in the global Financial Times rankings. In addition, he is the founder and Executive Director of Insurance Risk and Finance Research Center. The Centre has secured more than S$3 million research funding from SCOR and REGA since its establishment in 2011.
