  • Dipl.-Ing. Technical University of Berlin 1997
Biography
Asst. Prof. Schlüter received his Master’s degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in Engineering Science with a major in Fluid Mechanics from the Technical University Berlin in Germany in 1997. He proceeded with his PhD studies at ENSEEIHT in Toulouse, France. During that time, he worked for CERFACS, a center for computational science. He worked on Large-Eddy Simulations of gas turbine combustors, and received his PhD degree in 2000. From 2000 to 2005, he worked at the Center for Turbulence Research, a joint Center by Stanford University and NASA Ames. His work focused on high-performance computing on massively parallel machines. He joined the Aerospace Division of NTU’s School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in 2005. His current funded projects encompass Micro and Nano Air Vehicles, control of turbulent boundary layers, fluid-structure interactions, and airspeed sensors.
Research Interests
Aerodynamics, wind energy, turbulent flows, flow control, Computational Fluid Dynamics (RANS, LES, DNS, and RANS-LES hybrids), high-performance computing and parallel programming approaches, combustion modeling and combustion instabilities, acoustics.
