| Biography |
| Dr. Ang completed her PhD in School Psychology (specializing in Clinical Child Psychology) at Texas A&M University, USA, and completed her pre-doctoral internship at Houston Independent School District, Texas USA. Internship rotations included Harris County Juvenile Detention Center (Child Forensics Unit), alternative schools for at-risk youth, and various elementary, middle and high schools. Clients included students, parents, teachers, school administrators, and other community service agencies and providers. After receiving her PhD, she worked at the National Institute of Education (NIE) where she taught mostly counseling courses at the preservice, inservice and Master’s levels. She is currently an Associate Professor with the Division of Psychology, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, NTU. She is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (#31898) in the USA and a Registered Psychologist (#02050012) in Singapore. She contributes actively in external community organizations and provides input on issues concerning children, adolescents and families at-risk. |
| Research Interests |
| Dr. Ang's research interests include the following: disruptive behavior disorders (ADHD, ODD, CD) including child/adolescent aggression, and related interventions; child/adolescent maladaptive behaviors and coping inclusive of parent-child relationship issues, teacher-student relationship and school-related issues; and the development and validation of psychological scales for use in clinical child and school-going populations. |
