| Biography |
| Dr Lim is a Civil & Environmental Engineer with more than 25 years experience in water supply engineering practices which include water treatment, water distribution, water conservation and water quality evaluation. He received his Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from University of Malaya (Malaysia) and his Master and PhD from University of California, Berkeley (CA, USA). His PhD dissertation was on fate of wastewater-derived contaminants in surface waters. He is a deputy director of PUB Singapore, which is the national water agency of Singapore. He takes charge of planning, development and upgrading of water treatment plants, and conducts research on water treatment and water quality. |
| Research Interests |
| Dr. Lim's research interests focus on water treatment and water quality. His research areas include fate of wastewater-derived contaminants in surface water, natural and engineered attenuation processes of these compounds, water treatment processes such as low-energy desalination, membrane filtration, disinfection and advanced oxidation processes. On the water quality aspects, his interests include quick measurement of water quality parameters, formation and control of disinfection by-products, occurrence and removal of taste and odour-releasing compounds, quality of stormwater. |
