| Debbie Goh is an assistant professor in the Division of Journalism and Publishing at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information. She received her Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Indiana University's School of Journalism. Her research focuses on gender and ICTs, the digital divide, and media framing. Her work has won top paper awards from the International Communication Association and the Association for Educators in Journalism and Mass Communication. These include "Who We Are and What We Want: A Feminist Standpoint Approach to Defining Effective ICT Use for West Virginian Women" and "It’s the Gays’ Fault: News and HIV as weapons against homosexuality in Singapore." Prior to joining NTU, Debbie was an adjunct lecturer at West Virginia University P.I Reed School of Journalism, where she taught specialized news reporting. She also taught new media and society at the WVU Honors College. Professionally, Debbie has worked as a journalist for Singapore's Straits Times newspaper, and as editors for magazines and newsletters in Indiana and West Virginia. She is also an alumni of the WKWSCI. |
