Biography
Currently with the Division of Economics. Has held a number of academic posts in Australia, Malaysia and Singapore. His publications include several books and articles in interantional journals. Earlier research interests included: Optimal Control Theory, Environmental Economics (siting of NIMBY facilities; environmental damage schedules; valuation of non-market goods), Statistical Methods (nonparametric methods for heirarchical data; log-eig distribution).
Has also been a consultant to several statutory boards, government ministries and financial institutions.
Has professional qualifications in actuarial science and financial services.
Research Interests
Population and the economics and mortality aspects of aging.
Happiness studies with reference to life goals and aspirations.
