Biography
Tomasz Paterek was born and educated in Poland, obtaining his PhD with distinction from the University of Gdansk in 2007. He was then working as a postdoctoral fellow for the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna and the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) in Singapore. During 2012-2015 he had a joint appointment with CQT and, as an assistant professor, with NTU's School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. Since 2015 he is a full-time NTU employee. His works concern mainly quantum physics with many projects on the border between quantum mechanics and other disciplines.
Research Interests
I am interested in foundations and limits of quantum mechanics and in studies on the border between quantum physics and other fields of science such as information theory, computing, mathematics, biology or gravity.
Current Projects
  • New Quantifiers of Correlations and their Experimental Implications
  • Quantum Entanglement in Space and in Time: Indirect Distribution and Communication Complexity
  • Towards Experimental Tests of Gravitationally-Induced Decoherence in a Dark Energy Universe
  • Towards Quantum Biology with Insects: Magneto-Sensitivity of American Cockroach
