Mr Goh Kia Hong
Senior Lecturer, College of Business (Nanyang Business School) - Division of Accounting
|Kia Hong was previously an audit partner of a public accounting firm and has been the chief executive of companies in Singapore and South Korea. During the same period, he taught in various public and private institutions in auditing, accounting, marketing and entrepreneurship on adjunct arrangements. He had also developed advanced auditing and advanced accounting courses for a local university which were accredited by Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA).|
Kia Hong teaches Assurance and Risk Management courses in NBS undergraduate and master levels and Accounting for new and ongoing ventures in Nanyang Technopreneurship Centre’s Master of Science in Technopreneurship & Innovation Program.
Kia Hong is a trainer in Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) Continuing Professional Educations courses. Kia Hong also provides regular training, consultancy and research works to accounting firms and corporate organisations. He also contributes regular articles to practitioner journals and the main media on accounting and business related topics. Kia Hong also reviews textbook for a publisher.
Kia Hong serves as appointed examiners for the Singapore Qualification Programme (QP) Business Value, Governance and Risk Module, ISCA Assurance Professional Examination and ISCA Auditing and Assurances Singapore QP Foundation Programme. He previously worked with ISCA on ACRA’s Practice Monitoring Programme.
Kia Hong is a member of ISCA’s Auditing and Assurance Standards Committee and chairs ISCA’s Investigation and disciplinary panel. He was awarded the Service to Education Awards by the Ministry of Education in 2006 and 2011. He is currently the Chairman of Bukit Merah Secondary School Advisory Committee and a member of Mensa Singapore.
Kia Hong was awarded NBS Accountancy and Business Teacher of the Year Awards 2015 and NBS Teaching Excellence Award (TEA) - Accounting Division 2015. He was also nominated Inspirational Teacher of NBS for Koh Boon Hwee Scholarship 2014.
