Chee Wei currently splits his time between Auckland, NZ, and Singapore. In addition to his appointment as Adjunct Professor at NBS, he works with the Kerridge & Partners team to develop new leadership insights from a New Zealand Asian perspective.
Prior to Chee Wei’s relocation to Auckland, he was the founding CEO of the Singapore Human Capital Leadership Institute (HCLI). HCLI is an institute spearheaded by Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower and Economic Development Board, in partnership with the Singapore Management University (SMU). HCLI is the leading institution in Asia that raises strategic human capital capabilities and develops human capital thought leadership for Asia, from Asia. In addition to driving the strategy and initiatives for HCLI activities, Chee Wei was also the lead facilitator for HCLI’s flagship leadership programs, seminars and conferences.
Chee Wei has had a career spanning senior corporate HR roles, HR and leadership consulting, and also leading organization development initiatives in the government/military. Chee Wei spent 3 years with two large Asian family conglomerates - he was the Chief Human Resources Officer at IMC Corp Ltd., and subsequently with RGE as the Head of Strategic HR. Between 1997 and 2007, Chee Wei gained his consulting and executive experience leading SHL and Watson Wyatt (now TowersWatson) in Asia.
Chee Wei was educated in the UK under a Singapore government scholarship scheme and spent the first 10 years of his career as an organisational psychologist with the Singapore Armed Forces. He has a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from Leeds University (UK) and an MBA from the University of Leicester (UK).
