|Constance Chay-Nemeth received her Ph.D. in Public Affairs and Issues Management from Purdue University, U.S.A., in 1998. She has more than 19 years of experience in the fields of education, communication, and crisis management, both in the United States and Singapore.
She trains, consults, teaches and researches in strategic communication management, crisis management, health communication, public and corporate communications, public relations writing, campaigns and case studies, among many others. Besides training and consulting, Constance is a Senior Lecturer at the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University. She also held previous teaching positions at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University and Slippery Rock University (USA).
Constance has worked with a variety of organizations in the private and public sectors. These include Baxter International, Ogilvy Public Relations Singapore, Public Relations Academy of the Ministry of Information, Communication and the Arts, Prosafe Production Services, Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre, National University of Singapore, the National Healthcare Group Polyclinics, and Temasek Secondary School, among others.
She served 2006-2009 as the in-house crisis management trainer for incident commanders and crisis managers at the National University of Singapore. Here, Crisis Management 360° was born. As a modular system for crisis preparation and management, CM 360°, may be scaled up or down, according to organizational needs. Its comprehensive framework enables organizations to manage and draw mileage from crisis situations.
In addition, Constance is also a member of the International Communication Association. She has peer-reviewed for the Journal of Public Relations Research, Journal of Communication Management, and the International Communication Association. She has contributed to peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Public Relations Research, the Journal of Health Communication, and the Journal of Knowledge Management. In 2003, she wrote a book chapter on “Public Relations in Singapore,” published in the Global Public Relations Handbook: Theory, Research and Practice.
