Specific research topics which he has worked on include the boundary integral equation method, stress analysis around cracks, heat transfer with applications to modern engineering and biological systems, analyses of advanced materials (such as functionally graded materials and piezoelectric materials) and non-classical boundary value problems in physical and engineering sciences.

Asst Prof Aravind Babu DasariDr Dasari’s major research emphasis is on the development of in-depth understanding of the various facets of processing-structure-property relations in hybrid polymer nanocomposites to achieve synergistic properties for different end applications. These facets include: 1. Thermal stability and flame retardancy (with eco-benign agents) 2. Functional properties (electrical/thermal conductivities, biodegradability and UV shielding) 3. Electrospinning techniques 4. Wear/scratch damage at different scales (macro/micro/nano) 5. Deformation and Fracture mechanisms 6. Active food packaging
Assoc Prof Cai YiyuHis interest in Interactive & Digital Media (IDM) mainly includes Tactile/Haptic VR System Design, GPU-accelerated Digital Media Processing, Serious Games and Simulation, and Computer-aided Design. He has been doing research in the intersection of IDM, and Bio & Medical Sciences covering from Computer-assisted Surgery to Volumetric Cellular Image Processing to Phase I/II Drug Clinical Trial Design to Protein Docking. In MedTech field, he pioneered the research and development on Cardiovascular and Intracardiac Interventional Simulation for pre-treatment planning and training application. He is also active in industry-oriented research working closely with Engineering and Education sectors.
Asst Prof Castagne Sylvie Jeanne ConstanceDr Castagne's areas of expertise include micromechanics of materials, damage and fracture analysis and multi-scale constitutive modeling with application to the simulation of metal forming processes. She also has a background in digital manufacturing and systems engineering cost modeling. Currently, her research interests focus on the development of net shape and microforming processes with specific contributions regarding the analysis of size effects, tool failure and material thermomechanical processing.
